Unique spacious and modern, ideally suited to the lone traveller/worker or a couple. A rail worker, road worker or tradie needing accommodation in Murrurundi for a few days for a rail shutdown, roadworks or trade work can enjoy down time at a reasonable rate without having to share with co-workers. Our cosy Lodges include well equipped kitchenette, fridge, flat screen TV, reverse cycle aircon and double bed with electric blanket. Some of our Lodges also include a futon to accommodate a couple that would prefer separate beds, or Mum and Dad with a couple of littlies. All of our Lodges are located near to the amenities for your convenience and linen for the double bed is included in the price.
One Lodge has been designated as pet friendly. Your pet can stay in the cabin with you - a pet bed and bowl is provided.
Stay in one of our retired freight rail carriages (also known as the red rattlers), some of which started their service in1928. They were transported to the caravan park in 1988 and have now been lovingly refurbished to provide very comfortable accommodation with a difference.
Retired freight rail carriages come with full kitchen facilities including large fridge and cooker, microwave, ensuite, reverse cycle aircon, electric blankets, TV. Can sleep up to 4 people. Shower and toilet.
Relax in these retired freight rail carriages which have additional lounge area, and have full kitchen including large fridge, microwave, cooker, reverse cycle aircon, electric blankets, TV, shower and toilet. Can sleep up to six people. Linen is included for the double and single beds.
After much research, we are delighted to advise that we now know the history of the these carriages.
In a previous life, our freight rail carriages were known as MHO Brake Vans.
The Brakevan, also know as the Guard's Van or the Guard's Car, is an important part of every freight train. It carries the guard and is equipped with a strong brake to assist with slowing and stopping the train.
